I have always found the fight against so-called gay bigotry disingenuous.
No matter how much you explain that the objection with homosexuality is with a behaviour, not people, they conflate the two, because identity politics has to be based on what you are, not on what you do, as actions are subject to criticism,
So criticism to homosexual behaviour was conflated with rejection of people. Because you can't call people bigots for objecting to a behaviour, can you?
But when you try to tell people who support gay rights, they can't understand. That bit of logic undermines a principle too fundamental for them to give up. They have a kind of logic blindness.
