Third trimester abortions are like infanticide for physicians, according to the Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Quebec (AOGQ).
"It's not a question of legality. Those are infanticides. A child of 36 weeks to whom you administer an intracardiac injection to make the heart stop beating and induce delivery, that's an infanticide. [...] There could have been an adoptive family, " underscores Isabelle Girard, President of the AOGQ.
Protecting Life
Although Madame Girard recognizes that, legally, we cannot speak of infanticide, for practitioners, the perception is different.
"Ask any physician who does this. He does not have the impression that this is not an infanticide.
"It's not a question of tabou, it's a question of responsibility. Us, we protect life," She added.
Pfftt, infanticides. What's a little infanticide in the name of bodily autonomy? And if a 36-week-old baby has to die, tough luck! Right feminists? Right.
