“As a blogger and a member of the new media, I’m taking on the government and challenging them over this undemocratic move,” Maloney said in a press release Thursday morning. “Tax-payers should know how their tax dollars are being spent.”
Aside from interests of national security, all aggregate information collected by the government should be available to the public.
Period.
Governments should not hide what they know.
Governments work for the people, not the other way around.
I think Patricia Maloney is awesome for doing this.
Even people who have no interest in the abortion debate should pay attention.
When governments hide what they know, that's an abuse of power.
