I realize that lots of people are cheering because Russia is banning gay propaganda.
Just because you like a result doesn't mean you should support the method.
I get that homosexualist propaganda does a lot of damage. I get it that is spreads lies.
But suppressing freedom always bites you in the butt in the end.
First off, we will make martyrs of these people.
Secondly, when they get into power, they will cite this abuse of power to justify suppressing Christian rights.
Freedom is for everybody, or it's for no one.
If we need to suppress gay propaganda to preserve traditional values, maybe that's the problem.
You shouldn't sacrifice one good-- freedom-- for the sake of another. It doesn't make sense.
