The journalist added the Pope’s decision to resign was a "very bitter chalice" for him and that the former pontiff demonstrated "great humility" in doing so.
A bitter chalice? Really? I thought he couldn't wait to leave public life. Maybe he had unfinished business.
I wish the pope would write out this stuff... maybe do his memoirs while he still has time-- for the sake of history.
