Today is Mardi Gras or Shrove Tuesday.
I had decided some days ago that for Lent, I would only post on this blog once a day, except for major stories that cried out to be commented.
I'm so glad I made that exception, because I'd decided this before Pope Benedict had decided to resign.
I do intend to post more frequently during the conclave and to announce the new pope. (Wow, writing "new pope" gave me shivers. So anxious to see our new shepherd!)
Anyhow, it does not mean I will be completely absent.
I will still comment at will.
I will blog at will on my French blog. I might end up doing a lot of my blogging in French. Given that French is my second language and I have to think a lot when I write, it does amount to a kind of mortification.
Also, Catholics are not bound to Lenten penitential practices on Sunday. So I could post more often on Sunday, but I also tend to be a creature of habit, so don't count on it.
