I've been meaning to write a blogpost about this topic.
We need to deepen our philosophical abilities.
I normally don't post very long videos, but this is worthwhile (and it's only about 18 minutes, there's about 7 minutes of dead air at the end.)
I'd never heard of the "future like ours" pro-life argument. In my opinion, it sounds awful. I can't believe it actually holds any weight.
On a layperson's level, I think the best argument for acknowledging the equality and personhood of the unborn is that like produces like. And since our humanity is intrinsically valuable (and yes, that is a whole other argument) then it's valuable from the moment we exist. In a nutshell.
