This weekend, I attended the Write Canada Christian Writers' Conference, put on by The Word Guild. It took place in Guelph, Ontario.
It was awesome.
I went to see if I could network and check out what everyone else was doing.
It was great meeting other faith-filled Christian writers. And seeing other writers accomplish their goals made me say to myself: Hey, I can do this!
I took the Social Media intensive course, so I spent a lot of time refining my knowledge of using social media. (The other intensive courses didn't quite fit what I am doing). Thomas Umstattd, the head of AuthorMedia, led that course. Check out their blog for good tips.
If you are a Canadian Christian writer, and you need encouragement and the opportunity to improve your skills, I definitely recommend attending. It's not cheap, but you get a lot for your money. The weekend is jam-packed, and you get lots of opportunity to ask seasoned experts questions and to even get feedback on your writing or your pitch.
