“America today is becoming what I would call an atheocracy — a society that is actively hostile to religious faith and religious believers. And I might add — the faith that our society is most hostile toward is Christianity in general, and Catholicism in particular.”
The problem is that most clergy aren't doing squat to fight the problem. A lot of them are the useful idiots of those who are establishing that "atheocratic" political order. Talking about God in the public square is too "fundamentalist", notwithstanding that that's their job description.
There may come a time when we convince people that the unborn are human beings and persons. But abortion still continues, because people don't give a s*** if it's true. How else would you explain the fact that there are countries in the world whose constitutions recognize the unborn as people, and protect the right to life from conception, but abortion is still permitted (i.e. not prosecuted).
