It appears that Dr. Fabisiak, who works at Morgentaler's Clinic at 65 Bank St. has been disciplined by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
"Allegations of Dr. Fabisiak's professional misconduct and incompetence have been referred to the Discipline Committee of the College. It is alleged that Dr. Fabisiak failed to maintain the standard of practice of the profession and is incompetent in his care and treatment of Patient "A", Patient "B" and 23 patients. "
He was forced to relinquish his prescription privileges in regards to narcotics and other substances. Although he may still practice at Family Planning Clinics.
His actions appear to be a drug issue. Does he administer chemical abortions, and would this require administering controlled drugs? I wonder...
I poked around on the CPSO website, and the disciplinary hearings page that Dr. Fabisiak's allegations deal with "withdrawal".
What does that mean? Did he improperly fail to deal with a patient going through withdrawal? Is he going through withdrawal? Is he leaving the profession?
I think the College has a responsibility to be a bit more forthcoming on its information.
