L'ancien premier ministre Jacques Parizeau a salué sans aucune réserve «la victoire impressionnante» que viennent d'obtenir Gilles Duceppe et le Bloc québécois pour la formation d'un gouvernement de coalition à Ottawa.
Lors d'un entretien téléphonique hier aprèsmidi, Jacques Parizeau a estimé que «cette victoire balaie toutes les hésitations que peuvent avoir des Québécois sur l'utilité de la présence du Bloc à Ottawa».
Le Québec a obtenu, dit-il, des «gains immenses» en faveur de son intérêt «pour ses artistes, ses travailleurs et tous ceux qui pourraient être en difficulté» face à la crise économique qui menace.

Ex-Prime Minister Jacques Parizeau welcomed without any hesitation "the impressive vicotry" that Gilles Duceppe and the Bloc Québécois obtained in helping establish a coalition government in Ottawa.
During a telephone interview yesterday, he reckoned that "this victory sweeps away all hesistations that Quebeckers might have about the usefulness of the Bloc's presence in Ottawa."
Québec obtained "immense gains" in its favour, for its artists, workers et all those who could be in difficulty due to the economic crisis. [Note how separatists always conflate separatists and Quebeckers...I HATE THAT!!!]
Selon lui, la question de Stéphane Dion comme premier ministre de la coalition ne devrait pas confondre les souverainistes. «Il faut être pragmatique et comprendre que M. Dion n'est là que pour cinq mois à peine.»
Translation:
According to Parizeau, the issue of Stephane Dion as Prime Minister of the Coalition should not confound sovereignists. "You have to be pragmatic and understand that Dion will only be there for five months."
Five months, huh? That's not a stable government. If we're only to have him for five months, we should go into an election now.
De plus, ajoute Jacques Parizeau, le fait que le Bloc a fait signer à Stéphane Dion un accord politique où il est écrit explicitement qu'il s'engage «à agir en partenariat avec les Canadiens et les Québécois» devrait «faire sourire plusieurs souverainistes», note-t-il.
Translation:
Jacques Parizeau added that the fact that the Bloc made Stephane Dion sign a political accord where he wrote explicitly that he pledged to act in partnership between "Canadians and Quebeckers" will make many sovereignists smile.
Stephane Dion treated Quebeckers as non-Canadians?
L'ancien chef du Parti québécois estime que les Québécois doivent maintenant appuyer Pauline Marois lors de l'élection de lundi prochain pour «créer une force en mesure de défendre solidement et sans compromis les intérêts du Québec».
Translation:
The former PQ leader believes that Quebceckers must now support Pauline Marois during the election next Monday to "create a force capable of solidly defending without compromise the interests of Quebec."
More conflating separatists with Quebeckers. I so hate that.
Ce dernier est d'avis que l'épisode qui vient de se jouer à Ottawa fait en sorte que «la souveraineté du Québec est de nouveau à l'ordre du jour».
Parizeau is of the opinion that the episode that has just been played out in Ottawa has put Quebec sovereignty back on the agenda.
