This website reports that there are fewer spina bifida cases in North Carolina.
I am surprised the writer failed to take into account abortion as a factor in lowering of spina bifida rates. I am sure that folic acid has helped, but a huge percentage of fetuses diagnosed with spina bifida are aborted every year.
I'm wondering if the numebr has gone up.
