Woman will profit from abortion to get treated

I was somewhat dismayed that a newspaper from Lasalle Quebec is praising a woman's forthcoming treatment using the stem cells of aborted fetuses.

The stem cells will come from the umbilical cords.

What I can't understand is: why don't they use the umbilical cords of fetuses who are not killed?

If I were birthing a baby, I would gladly give the umbilical cord's blood away.

And how do they get these umbilical cords anyway? It's not like Mexico is a hotbed of abortion activity.
