He will add that the assurances amounted to "lies and misinformation masquerading as compassion and truth".

How many bishops in Canada are prepared to speak so bluntly? Sadly, not many. If the clergy were to condemn abortion in a straightforward fashion, instead of the usual mealy-mouthed way-- if they condemn it at all-- it would go a long way to make Catholics understand the gravity of the sin.
