Lefties still trying to make a story out of the March for Life banner

On the whole March for Life banner kerfuffle, Darren from apply-liberally.com is trying to insinuate that last year's banner was not "approved" by the Conservative government because it did not have the Canada wordmark, thereby making Campaign Life appear to be liars, when they say they've used that banner with the wordmark for many years. Darren uses this picture to make his point. The image on the left is from 2007. The one from the left, he says, is from 2006.

He said he took the photo from the Read The Truth website.

But if you notice the date below on the website, it says it was generated on April 13th 2006-- that would have been BEFORE the 2006 March for Life.

Plus, I took some pictures last year at the March in 2006. The wordmark was there:

It may not have been on the French one (I don't know either way) but it was on the English one.

Now, he says that the picture from the ReadtheTruth website was from last year. I think it's not. Why? The other photos on that site, which seem to be from the same year, show the crowd gathering on the steps of the Supreme Court.

If memory serves, that practice hasn't been done in the while. I didn't do it last year.

It could be that some buses parked at the Supreme Court and maybe some protesters gathered there before going to the Hill, but they look like a pretty organized crowd, and I suspect that those pictures are actually several years old.

In fact, in another scene, the crowd looks pretty old:

That doesn't look like any of the crowds from the recent Marches. And the route is not from recent Marches either. If you look at the Church in this scene:

It passes on a church that's on Wellington, corner of Lyon or Kent Street, if my memory is correct. Recent marches have not gone there. We go from Parliament Hill to Elgin Street, which is further East.

We'd have to confirm with the photographer, but to me these are pictures of a very old March-- one of the first ones.

You have to give the left-wing blogosphere an "A" for credit in trying to uncover a scandal where there is none.

UPDATE ON MAY 17: Bill McEvoy informed me in comments and an email that the said pictures were taken in 1999.
