The Huffington Post misses the point

Is there any question a mother who forces her child to smoke or drink (let alone use illegal drugs) should be punished? If unborn children have similar rights as those outside of the womb, shouldn't punishment be the same? And what is the punishment for forcing your children to ingest harmful (albeit legally available) drugs?

This op-ed by Robbie Gennet of The Huffington Post misses the point.

When the White Supremacists made their arguments against blacks having rights, they drew their nightmare scenario as well. They were afraid that blacks would take over if they were given the right to vote and all their civil rights. White Supremacists were afraid they would lose their "right" to live in a white society.

In taking this approach, they did not ask the main question: do black people have inalienable rights?

That was the main issue. Whether or not we like the results is not the point.

The white supremacists would create their nightmare scenarios without ever giving any consideration to the black man, and caring what would happen if he didn't obtain his rights.

The case is the same: feminist supremacists (and their allies) make their arguments without one whit of consideration for the unborn child. So how credible can they be on the issue of what would happen if the unborn child's rights were acknowledged.

In the eyes of the white supremacists, it didn't matter that black people should die under their system (and at their own hands). That was quite immaterial. In the same way, feminist supremacists don't care if unborn babies die, either.

Consider the white supremacist nightmare scenario: white men become "subserviant" to the black man-- is that any reason not to give black people their basic rights?

It's the same thing for unborn children. Whatever evil nightmare scenario the liberals can come up with, it's a lesser evil than hundreds of thousands of unborn children being killed every year.
