SD Governor Says Abortion Bill Can Wait A Year

The bill contained language that would have put the proposed abortion ban on the November 2008 ballot for a statewide public vote. The governor says it might make sense to wait until next year to pass such a bill because lawmakers might get a better idea of what langugage courts would accept to limit abortion.

I hope you're right, gov. I hope you folks in South Dakota aren't all going to forget about it.

I wonder if South Dakotans know that the eyes of the world are on them, and that pro-lifers around the world are looking to them for hope and leadership. South Dakota may not be well-known around the world except for maybe Mount Rushmore, but if it ever manages to pass that ban, it will go down in the annals of history as a leader in the fight for unborn rights.
