The Christian Heritage Party has been around for almost twenty years now, but there are some who still do not know it exists.
So they've produced a video to explain what they're all about.
Of course, there's still heavy emphasis on the big so-con issues: fetal rights and traditional marriage.
However, they have some interesting policies such as a $1000 tax credit a month for stay-at-home parents and income splitting. They also want to pay off the national debt, and develop a right to appeal Supreme Court decisions, as was the case in the famous "Persons" case.
There are many young faces in the video.
It's about thirteen minutes long. I thought it was thoughtful and well-produced. I think it will be a credit to their upcoming election campaign.
Personally, I'm not keen on the Christian Heritage Party. I don't agree that a political party should be explicitly based on one religion. I think a political party should be able to accommodate people of various religious backgrounds. I also strongly disagree with their stance as the Bible being the final authority. In Catholicism, it's the papal magisterium that's the final authority.
I just thought I'd pass that on.
