NBers seek to get more public funding for abortion

It appears that a group of pro-abortion attorneys are looking to get more funding more abortion.

Lawyer Michelle Caron is leading the fight against the restrictions and she claims no other medical procedure faces the same kind of limitations on funding.

That is a load of crap. In Ontario, your physiotherapy will be paid for if you get it in a hospital; it's not paid for if you get it in a private clinic.

First the Health Minister will be approached, and if he doesn't agree to fund the Morgentaler abortuary, the lawsuit will proceed.

Most people don't agree with having the public health system pay for abortions, according to a Life Canada poll. In fact, there is very little support for this in Atlantic Canada. Only 21% of Atlantic Canadians believe that abortions should always be paid for through tax dollars. Most Canadians believe that abortions should either be personally paid for, or only paid for when the pregnancy is a result of rape or incest, or the life of the mother is in danger.

That's the belief of most Canadians.

But these lawyers want to impose their values on New Brunswickers.

Why is it okay for these people do it, but when social conservatives wanted to preserve the traditional definition of marriage, that was not okay?

It seems that many on the left feel entitled to impose they're values because they're right, but those on the right are not entitled to fight for their beliefs, because they're wrong.

The fact of the matter is, the state has ZERO obligation to pay for any health care. It's a social choice, not a legal obligation. Health care is not a right. The right to the security of the person doesn't oblige everyone else to pay for it.

H/T: Spink About It.
