This is a most excellent interview in which Bill O'Reilley tries to get Amy Richards to admit she's okay with late-term abortions for a depressed mother. She says she doesn't even think abortion is killing an unborn. What sheer blindness and dishonesty!
What bothers me with the response of Amy Richards was that it was a completely fair question: are you okay with this, yes or no? She ran from that like a rat from a sinking ship. What's the matter, Amy? I thought abortion wasn't supposed to be shameful. If you're acting like it's shameful, there must be something wrong with it.
Here's a little backgrounder in case you missed the news about the Kansas Attorney general getting a hold of medical files at George Tiller's abortion clinic.
American readers, there has been a lot of talk about how Evangelicals might not vote for Republicans, thereby jeopardizing the fetal rights cause.
I suggest that you blog this, and tell your socially conservative readers that if they fail to vote pro-life, they are failing to fight the ideology of Amy Richards. The Republicans are the ones who wanted the Partial Birth Abortion Ban (of which George Tiller is a proponent and practioner). It's the socially liberal judiciary with the ideology of Amy Richards that prevents a ban.
UPDATE:
Christine at Real Choice has an excellent post on the situation in Kansas. It turns out all 90 abortions which the AG was investigating were illegal. No shock there. Why would you abort rather than have a c-section for a viable baby?
