What the SOW supporters are up to

So Audra Williams of Your Dirty Answer and Pam Kapoor of Pamusement are trying to organize the opposition to the SOW cuts through StatusReport.ca.

They write:

Oda and Harper have 16 million female constituents to answer to. Apparently, we have to speak up.

I have one message for these women: YOU DO NOT SPEAK FOR ME!

I am thrilled by these cuts, and so are many other women.

Oda and Harper have answered to us: they made SOW cuts at our behest!

Canadians voted them in. Women, notably REAL Women lobbies for those cuts; so did the blogbursters.

You do not represent 16 million women. Nor are the majority feminists.

We believe the funding of dissent is a compelling indicator of the strength of any democracy.

What a load of unbelievable bull manure. Okay, then, are you ready to fund us pro-life groups to lobby the government?

No. You're merely writing that to guilt people into giving you money.

You want to dissent? Do it on your own dime. It is not your moral right to require the taxpayer to fund you.

We believe the federal government should be responsive and accountable to ALL citizens, not just the ideologically skewed voices of a mere few.

That is RICH. SOW has NEVER been responsive or accountable to non-socialist women.

I'm not mad they're lobbying the government. I'm mad they claim to do it on my behalf.

Non-feminists should campaign to alert the public: feminists do not speak for all women.
