SPUC petitions UN to ban abortion

The British Society for the Protection of Unborn Children-- which I believe is the oldest fetal rights group in the world-- has issued a press release in the wake of a UN report on violence against children.

The SPUC argues that the Convention on the Rights of the Child has been neglected, as it states:

'Whereas the child, by reason of his physical and mental immaturity, needs special safeguards and care, including appropriate legal protection, before as well as after birth,'.

The SPUC will be petitioning the General Assembly to institute a global ban on abortion.

It has also launched a website dedicated to this effort. There's a petition, but I'm not sure if this is only for British people, or for everyone.
