A nod from the mainstream media

It appears Canadian Press has noticed not only the anti-SOW blogburst, but also the Court Challenges Blogburst:

And they have mounted fierce public-relations campaigns against government programs that later wound up being axed or downsized, including the Court Challenges Program -- a fund that paid for legal challenges that won new rights for women, minorities, the disabled, and gays and lesbians since the 1970s.

Way to go, people! You can thank Kathy Shaidle for her initiative! Also instrumental were Girl on the Right, Small Dead Animals, and Joanne's Journey.

At least some of the gals at Bread n' Roses are upset we're getting noticed, and they're not.

Debra writes:

yes there has been plenty of blogging about SWC 90 odd specific things in fact and all they are interested in is the Animal House.

Heh heh heh.

Animal House? I thought animal references to women were verboten.

Oh well. No apologies necessary.

UPDATE:

Debra writes to Canadian Press:

In reading the latest installment on the disgraceful behaviour of the tories, I notice that the blogging tories are quoted. Now while this story certainly derserves attention to show just what ignorance abounds in the tory party and among their supporters, I have to wonder why progressive bloggers are igored.

Many have blogged regarding cuts to SWC, CCP, and other cuts the tories have made. Attention has been given this issue. But most specifically over 90 bloggers thus far have gotten together to blog about what feminism has done for them as a way of showing support for SWC. Where is the press for that? Why is it that attention can be given this frat boy behaviour but none given to the serious and thoughtful posts of feminists?
