Morgentaler clinic defaced

Some dumbass defaced the Morgentaler clinic in EdmontonFredericton. Lest people out there think that all of is pro-lifers are cheering at this gesture, I thought I'd post the article to say that I hope the culprits are caught and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. We don't necessarily know who did this. It could be pro-lifers, or it could be a bunch of punks trying to make pro-lifers look bad.

There are a lot of people out there who are pro-life who don't do a damn thing about fighting for fetal rights. They lash out, but they don't work for true change. Vandalizing a clinic is easy. Shooting an abortionist is (relatively) easy. That won't change a damn thing, and it will only make the cause look bad. The way to do it is through prayer, persuasion, protest, cultural change (like art!) and lobbying. I think there are plenty of people who are open to positive messages about the unborn child. But it takes some dedication to change minds and hearts. If a pro-lifer really wants change, he has to work for it. Those pro-lifers who never say anything or work towards change, they are part of the problem.

Yeah, you can just hear the pro-aborts blaming this on us, saying we're all responsible. Yay. Another bit of ammo handed to the pro-aborts.

To their credit, the people cleaning up this mess at the abortion clinic were mild in their reactions:

Leibovitch said she suspects the graffiti this week was a random act, and not directly connected to the Ontario group.
"I don't think it was those people who did this," said Leibovitch. "I think it's people who have been very upset about what they've seen, about the graphic visualizations that have been on the streets of Fredericton for four separate days, and I think it's very unfortunate."
On Friday, Judy Burwell of the Abortion Rights Coalition of Canada was wearing rubber gloves and a face mask as she sprayed cleaners to remove the painted messages from the clinic walls.
"People get riled-up, and a lot of people don't even know what they're reacting to," she said. "They're just reacting, and this is an easy target."

They could have easily used this as "political capital" to use the French expression, but they didn't. They were fairly reasonable in their comments.

ETA: I originally wrote "Edmonton". But I knew it was Fredericton. Ahh!!! I worked late last night. Forgive me.
