On Sunday, October 1, (in most locations from 2-3 pm), many pro-lifers across Canada and the United States will take part in the annual, silent but powerful witness against abortion, proclaiming life-affirming messages. These messages include “Adoption the loving option,” “Abortion harms women,” and “Abortion kills children.”
Life Chain is designed to provide a peaceful and prayerful public witness by people standing for one hour at numerous specified intersections and locations across the country praying for our nation and for an end to abortion. It also demonstrates to millions of our fellow Canadians that the injustice of abortion continues. For many years there has been little debate in Canada about abortion; Life Chain forces Canadians to think abortion, especially at a time when many politicians and the media would like to pretend it isn’t an issue. I think it's important that every single pro-lifer show up to LifeChain. I sense there is a wee bit more momentum on the pro-life side in Canada, lately, and we have to build on the momentum. Please mark October 1st on your calendars! Get all the pro-lifers you know to come on down. It's only an hour, and I feel that the mood is changing. More and more people are signaling their approval of pro-life thought, and fewer and fewer are hostile.
