This is a sick story. A woman goes an abortion clinic in Hialeah Florida to get an abortion at 22-weeks gestation. That in itself is sick enough. Late-term abortions can be a two-day affair. The lady goes back the next day complaining of abdominal pain and gives birth to the baby. What does the staff do?
They cut the umbilical cord, put the baby in a biohazard bag to suffocate him, and walk away.
A lot of people are really in the dark about this aspect of late-term abortions. Babies survive often enough. I'm not saying they survive VERY often, but often enough that you hear about it.
When this happens, the baby is usually killed. He's left in a corner to suffocate to death. It's technically against the law, but since everyone is co-operating in the baby's death anyway, and it is an abortion clinic (or hospital), where dead fetuses are a regular occurrence, no one will report it.
This is why we need a late-term abortion law in Canada. We have no idea how often this happens, but given the number of times it occurs in the States, it must happen. It's just not reported in the media.
One of the arguments Canadian pro-aborts use to oppose late-term abortion is that it "doesn't occur that often".
Whether it happens once or a million times, is this something we should accept in Canada? We know for a fact it happens several hundred times a year. I wouldn't be surprised if at least one or two of the babies survived and are left to die.
Interesting little tidbit: the ghastly partial birth abortion procedure, where the baby's brains are sucked out, as well as dilation and evacuation, where the baby is dismembered inside the womb, these two methods of abortion were developed precisely because of the "dreaded complication" of too many babies surviving saline abortions.
They've become more efficient at killing.
And lest you believe the propaganda that the baby is already dead during a PBA, court-testimony by PBA abortionists reveals that the injection of digoxin in the heart that is supposed to kill the baby doesn't always make it into its target. It sometimes ends up in the muscle mass. Killing a baby through a needle of poison and cardiac arrest isn't exactly painless, either.
