This is an account (by Bill Whatcott) of his exchange with MP Hedy Fry. As you may or may not know, Bill Whatcott is a very zealous pro-life activist whose modus operandi is delivering flyers of aborted babies in people's mailboxes. I thought this was quite interesting.
A true record of the face to face meeting with Fry and her supporters at approx 3:00 PM on Thursday, July 20/ 2006:
Hedy Fry, Liberal Member of Parliament, Vancouver Centre, waving Whatcott's flyer around on the street: "You're promoting violence! You're promoting violence! Someone could get killed over words like this!"
Bill Whatcott yells in response (while putting flyers in mailboxes) to Hedy Fry and her sodo-mite friends as they yell nonsense about hate crimes and violence at him from across the street: "Grow up!"
Hedy Fry: "The police have been notified about you!"
Bill Whatcott: "So what? Because of Liberals like you jail is a holiday!"
Sod-omite friend of Hedy Fry shouts: "What gives you the right to distribute flyers like this?"
Bill Whatcott (speaking loudly while still putting flyers in mailboxes): "I got the right, I pay taxes, I'm a Canadian citizen, I disagree with Hedy Fry's promotion of baby killing and homosexuality; and you won't take the right to speak away from me!"
Hedy Fry supporter shouts at Whatcott (not sure if he's a sodo-mite or not): "Go back on your meds!"
Sodo-mite friend of Hedy Fry shouts at Whatcott: "It's none of your f__ken business!"
Hedy Fry starts running to other houses to complain about Whatcott's flyer still shrieking Whatcott is committing a hate crime and is promoting violence.
Whatcott yells at Fry and ignores the sodo-mites: "You sure got a lot of work ahead of you if you are going to undo the damage my flyers are causing. I have 5000 of them distributed in every area of your riding!"
Fry visibly upset, goes back into her house.....:
